THE VOCALION PROJECT
Keeping the music alive. A major issue for vocal groups and singers in their effort to produced new product to keep the music alive is the COST. Well, Black Swan and MdC is doing something to solve this problem in an effort to get the singers and music we are passionate about to release new CDs and DVDs.
The VOCALION PROJECT is being produced by MdC and Black Swan in studios in Philadelphia.
Audio and Video Production and photography will be supplied for veteran vocal groups and singers.
It's a project generating CDs and DVDs of
performances, interviews, photographs and documentaries.
Here are the kickers:
For what is probably the first time the singers will own what they produce and will be free to do with the audio and video what they like, distribute how they want and finally own their own masters.
The cost to the singers could be as low as "$ZERO". That's right - free!
Depending on what is produced and how it's produced the normal cost for crew and equipment will run in the hundreds not thousands of dollars.
In certain situations the production costs could be free.
Neither Black Swan nor MdC will make a profit - I just don't want to lose money!

NOTE - The project will be done by the end of January.
As of 12.20.09 the stereo remix of the audio and the editing of the interview were finished. And four of the sixteen songs were edited. The post production crew who are students went on their Christmas Holiday on 12.18 and they will resume their work by January 20.
I must tell you that Justin Jackson's edit of BE SURE MY LOVE is the best editing of a vocal performance I've ever seen. I think that this project will change what is expected by fans on their DVDs.

On September 11, 2009 STREET CORNER FIVE
came into an extraordinary studio in Philadelphia intending to sing five songs.
Instead they sang 16.
Their performance was not only professionally recorded on audio,
it was videotaped by seven cameras. The cost to STREET CORNER FIVE was $0.
That's right - it was free.
The result will be a package including both a CD and a DVD.
Both will include the majority of songs recorded that day plus
an interview with all of the members of the group plus some very special
footage recorded on location.
There are a great number of singers and groups interested in taking advantage of this unique opportunity including some legendary singers from our revered groups of the 1950s.
More information will be forthcoming, and more unusual DVDs, CDs and 45 RPM records will be
released after the 2008 Burlington Concert is fully released.
The photo below was taken by MdC and photography for singers and groups can be supplied to vocal groups and singers of vintage music for what I charged STREET CORNER FIVE - nothing.
